Gareth is a member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM). He has 20 years of experience covering local authority recycling and waste disposal and collection services. He is a national representative for LARAC, The Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee, including being a member of the association’s H&S & Policy Team. Currently the Head of Waste for West Sussex County Council, Gareth is responsible for disposal contracts, waste infrastructure and strategy and leading on the changes required to deliver new waste legislation.

When an opportunity arose from an outsourcing process in 2019 I found myself in Coventry. In February 2019 I applied for a role at Coventry City Council as a Project Support Officer for Waste Services then following this, took my current role of Waste Project Manager. I love working in Waste and Environmental Services, it’s never dull!, with changes to services, residents needs and legislation requirements there is always something to keep me busy.
